Fall is in the air in TN. Leaves are falling and the weather is cooling off. One thing I love about fall is Starbuck’s Pumpkin Spice Latte. I wanted to be able to have a pumpkin type coffee at home in the morning. I wanted a syrup that was made from maple syrup rather than sugar since maple syrup is lower on the glycemic index and not processed like sugar. It still has carbs and still isn’t healthy necessarily, other than the pumpkin. Use in moderation! I add a tablespoon or two to my coffee with some almond milk to give me that pumpkin flavor. It will be thick but melts when added to hot coffee.
Since it is a maple syrup, you can also try it on pancakes and waffles! Hope you enjoy it!
- 1 cup pure maple syrup
- ½ cup pumpkin puree
- ¼ teaspoon ginger
- ¼ teaspoon allspice
- ¼ teaspoon cloves
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- Mix all ingredients in a small pan.
