Occasionally she is low, and I have to wake her up to eat or drink. This is a huge challenge, as she’s quite the heavy sleeper! I have come to the conclusion that it’s much easier to get her to drink something than to wake up and chew.
So I usually give her juice. (Milk might be a better choice as far as having some protein in it to hold her longer, but getting her to drink milk in the middle of the night hasn’t worked!) But even getting her to stay awake long enough to drink even half a cup of juice is a challenge.
I have started keeping frozen concentrate in my freezer, and I scoop out 1/8 a cup (or 1/4 cup if she’s less 50) and put it in a sippy cup (yes, I’ve figured out even though she’s 10 that a sippy cup works best when she’s half asleep!) and mix in just1/4 cup of water. This makes for some concentrated juice that probably isn’t the best tasting, but when she’s so droggy it works to just get her to take a few sips.
